Located
on a peninsula with over 500 feet of shoreline providing a
water view on three sides and a private yard on the fourth,
the grounds are wooded with interspersed gardens, hammocks
and gliders for secluded relaxation.
From
across the Western slough, you can barely see the house peeking
through the trees to the right of this photo taken in November.
The water level is lowered in the Winter months and raised
again in the Spring.
The
home consists of either four or five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Interior ceilings soar to 26 feet in this all-timber home
and a balcony overlooks the dining and living areas.
The
living room contains a wood burning iron and ceramic fireplace,
60" projection television with DVD, full stereo system
and a beautiful antique piano.

A
dedicated poker/game table overlooks the lake through massive
glass windows with lots of games provided for any rainy interludes.
A
regulation pool table can be quickly converted to ping-pong
or table hockey.

The
dining room has an antique mahogany table with eight chairs
but can seat up to ten.
In
addition, a full-length bar with six stools provides combined
seating for up to 16 people. It also has a stunning view of
the lake.
The
kitchen has full amenities including a dishwasher and a freezer
for storing food. Concierge Food Service is available (Link).
All
dishes, silverware, microwave, full oven and condiments are
provided. Chef and catering services are also available (Link).
A
large window overlooking the lake makes this as pleasant as
the rest of the rooms.

The
master suite downstairs is luxuriously massive. It contains
an oversize king-sized bed and bath with bidet.
A
large washer and dryer are located off the master bedroom.
The
bedroom looks out over the lake from one oversized window
and the front garden from the other.
A
separate dressing suite complemented by a two-person Jacuzzi
is part of the Master Suite.
This
room contains a fold-out futon with tempurpedic top which
can be used as a fifth bedroom.
A
personal sink and television in both rooms provide maximum
comfort.

A
second smaller suite with a queen sized, four-poster rice
bed and private bath is located off the upstairs balcony.
A
second bedroom with an antique cannonball bed overlooks the
lake and shares a third full bathroom with a large "childrens
room."

The
childrens room sports two bunk beds; each with a full mattress
down and one up to sleep up to a total of six smaller children.
Overall
the house can be configured for three adult couples, each
with a separate bed and bathroom, which is perfect for golf
or fishing weekends, or all the way up to fourteen people
with children.
The
lake-side covered deck looks out over a garden of azaleas,
rhododendron and water all the way around.
A
large, stainless steel grill is provided for outdoor cooking
rain or shine.

A
meandering path leads down to a two-level deck with chairs,
table and chaise. It's the perfect spot for sunbathing or
an evening meal on the water.
A
floating boathouse provides cover for your boat.
Swimming, diving and fishing is enjoyed from a second floating
dock with ladder.
Activities: Water sports,
obviously, constitute the heart of summertime activities.
Swimming or floating from the docks, together with sunbathing
and just plain relaxing on the water, are hard to beat.
Fishing is delightfully varied on this lake. Because of its
significant depth, it is home to a population of large landlocked
striped bass, which provide "deep sea" fishing action
on a freshwater lake. The lake is also known for its smallmouth
and largemouth populations. The kids can catch bream and catfish
from the dock. Guides
are available for guaranteed success. Night fishing from the
dock is an experience the kids will never forget.
Boat rental is available from nearby Tims
Ford Marina. Ski boat rental may be added shortly (inquire
at the time of rental about the availability of a 20-foot
Mariah I/O skiboat).
